Job summary

Plano ISD Administration Building is seeking a Director of Budget and Compliance to plan, manage, and coordinate the district's budget in accordance with federal, state, and local rules and district goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Business or Accounting, with CPA and TASBO preferred, and at least two years of public-sector budget experience. The position emphasizes policy implementation, data analysis, and staff coaching to ensure accurate budgeting and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting is required.
• CPA certification and TASBO certification preferred.
• Two years of accounting/budget experience in a public sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the budget process and the annual budget and quarterly amendments.
• Coach staff and provide technical assistance on budgeting and reporting.
• Develop training options to improve financial management.
• Ensure programs are cost effective and funds are prudently managed.
• Comply with laws, rules, and policies of fiscal management and accounting standards.
• Report to CFO on budget development and compliance, and on business procedures.
• Monitor district budgets including governmental funds and internal funds.
• Serve as a resource for principals and budget directors on the budget process.
• Provide staff training in budget and fiscal compliance.
• Prepare monthly budget reports for departments and campuses.
• Assist in compiling year-end financial data for the CAFR.
• Assist auditors in periodic audits.
• Follow Plano ISD rules and directives from supervisors.
• Perform other functions as assigned by Administration.
