Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, public administration, finance or business.
• Three years of experience in financial analysis, budget planning/monitoring or professional accounting.
• Equivalencies as listed in the job posting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the annual operating budget including capital, grants, community development, or trusts; prepares budget documents reflecting expenditures and costs.
• Perform special projects and respond to requests for financial information; create forecasting models and trend analyses.
• Prepare routine monthly, quarterly, and annual reports such as cost analysis and budget status reports.
• Review and evaluate council agenda items for financial data; coordinate budget development with staff.
• Communicate with city departments and auditors to obtain or provide information and resolve problems.
• Process financial system transactions; supervise deposits, receivables, payables, and revenues; reconcile accounts.
• Coordinate annual budget development with staff, ensuring accuracy and adherence to guidelines.
• Performs other work as needed.
