Job summary

The Center for Public Partnerships & Research is seeking a Director of Administration and Budget to provide strategic leadership for financial operations at the University of Kansas School of Journalism and Mass Communications. The role oversees budgeting, reporting, and coordination with KU central offices to ensure compliant, effective fiscal management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 3+ years of management experience (or equivalent).
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting and grant management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic financial leadership and planning for the School.
• Coordinate resource allocation and annual operating budget development.
• Lead audits and ensure compliance with state, federal, and endowment requirements.
• Oversee payroll, personnel records, and HR-related budget activities.
• Assist with sponsored project support and grants management.
