Job summary

The University of Kansas in Lawrence is seeking a Director of Administration and Budget to lead financial planning, analysis and reporting for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. You will manage budgets, staffing, and grants, partnering with school leaders to align resources with strategic priorities.

The role requires a degree and budget management experience, strong communication, and the ability to navigate KU and state requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with related experience; 3+ years in budgeting/finance
• Minimum 2 years of management/supervisory experience
• Experience managing sponsored projects and funds with fiscal controls
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to interface with senior leaders

Responsibilities

• Provide overall financial leadership and planning for the School of Journalism and Mass Communications
• Coordinate resource allocation to fund strategic initiatives
• Prepare and review annual operating budget and related analyses
• Lead audits and ensure compliance with state, KU, and endowment requirements
