Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a BOM Sourcing Engineer to drive strategic supply network development and cost management across product lifecycles. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams including engineering, quality, and manufacturing.

The role emphasizes early supplier engagement, Should-Cost analysis, and joint design development to optimize cost, schedule, and supply chain flexibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field.
• 3+ years of experience in sourcing engineering, supplier engagement and development, or design of electronics and/or mechanical devices.
• Domain expertise in value/procurement engineering or TCO-related work at component/product level.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Onsite in Costa Mesa, CA or able to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier selection for a specific product, leveraging approved supplier list.
• Partner with strategic suppliers to accelerate product development via: concept scoping, feature trade-offs, should-cost/clean-sheet models, joint design development with clear statements of work, and simulation of mechanical/electronic designs.
• Drive the development and consolidation of a manufacturing BOM with Quality & Manufacturing to ramp production with high flexibility.
• Manage CAPEX throughout NPI.
• Conduct value-stream mapping to optimize supply network lead time and flexibility.
• Complete BOM risk assessment with alternate sourcing.
• Ensure component qualifications ahead of production.
• Reduce complexity via commonality optimization and supplier rationalization.
• Lead cost engineering activities to converge cost curves to product cost and maximize TCO.
• Handle ad-hoc cost issues like tariffs/cost inflation.
