Job summary

Axle, a bioscience and information technology firm, seeks a Scientific Program Manager to join NIH NCATS in Rockville, MD. The role coordinates across NIH Institutes, providing comprehensive administrative and program support for the Complement-ARIE program and related NCATS initiatives.

Strong emphasis on budgeting, reporting, and cross-agency collaboration. The position requires experience in biology, program management, and familiarity with NIH funding mechanisms.

Qualifications

• 3 years of specialized experience plus a bachelor’s degree is equivalent to a master’s degree
• Master’s degree in molecular biology, Microbiology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline
• Minimum of two (2) years of related project management experience
• Four years of experience in biology or other related field
• Knowledge of NIH grants and funding mechanisms
• Experience with budget execution and administration duties
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Responsibilities

• Prepare program documents: meeting notes, summaries and reports
• Coordinate across NIH Institutes, Centers and Offices and partner agencies
• Provide administrative and program support to ensure efficient operations
• Develop reports and analyses for program reviews and milestones
• Maintain and update SharePoint sites and web content
• Assist with planning and execution of workshops and conferences
• Track budgets, funding and expenditures for program activities
• Prepare briefing materials for Institute leadership
