Job summary

Asana is seeking a Benefits Manager on the People Team in San Francisco to design and scale core health, welfare, wellness and retirement programs for North America, ensuring equity and competitive support for every employee.

You will partner with the Head of Global Benefits, manage vendors, ensure regulatory compliance, and apply an AI-first mindset to streamline administration and personalized communications across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in benefits program management.
• Expertise as a benefits administration system administrator or power user.
• Strong knowledge of NAMER benefits compliance (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, state paid leave).
• Familiarity with total rewards philosophy and equity-informed design.
• Clear, compelling communicator with empathy and writing skills.
• Ability to lead cross-functional change and use data to drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, design, and execution of benefits programs across the U.S. and Canada.
• Shape the overall benefits experience, communications, and delivery to maximize well-being.
• Manage vendor and broker relationships across medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and retirement programs.
• Administer our benefits platform and advise on enrollment, data integrity, governance, and reporting.
• Collaborate with People Ops, Payroll, Finance, Legal, and Talent Acquisition on lifecycle integration and change initiatives.
• Ensure programs and plan documents remain compliant with regulations (ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, FMLA).
• Design measurable frameworks for utilization, satisfaction, and cost management using data.
• Apply an AI-first approach to streamline benefits administration and personalized communications.
