Job summary

WilmerHale is seeking a Business Development Manager for the Securities and Financial Services group in Washington, DC. The role partners with senior lawyers to drive strategy, identify growth opportunities, and lead BD initiatives.

You will manage pitches, client events, and thought leadership across SFS, with emphasis on Financial Institutions, Investment Management, Securities Litigation and Digital Assets. Strong analytics and stakeholder skills are required.

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years of experience in legal business development, marketing, or professional services.
• Experience supporting regulated industries or financial services practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted BD advisor to partners and develop strategic BD plans.
• Lead pitches, proposals, and RFP responses with attorneys.
• Develop knowledge of SFS practices, clients, industries, and regulatory developments.
• Plan and execute client events, sponsorships, seminars, and BD programs.
• Collaborate with attorneys on client initiatives, relationship mapping, and growth strategies.
• Oversee legal directory and award submissions for SFS.
• Support thought leadership through articles, alerts, webinars, and speaking engagements.
• Assist with managing BD budgets and tracking spend.
• Mentor and develop BD team members.
