Job summary

Orrick is seeking a Business Development Manager in the Energy & Infrastructure group, based in any US office. You will drive revenue growth by leading strategic BD and marketing initiatives across energy, infrastructure, and related sectors.

You will partner with senior lawyers and practice leaders to develop client development plans, lead pitches and proposals, shape market narratives, and manage events and CRM data, ensuring high-value opportunities and cross-office collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of marketing or business development experience, preferably in legal or professional services supporting energy, infrastructure, project finance or related practices.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Familiarity with energy and infrastructure markets preferred; enthusiasm to develop deep sector expertise required.
• Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate needs and drive initiatives.
• Excellent project management with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including client-facing materials.
• Experience with CRM systems and market research tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute client development plans with senior firm leaders.
• Lead pitches, proposals and RFP responses from intake through submission.
• Shape sector-focused value propositions and market narratives.
• Plan and manage client events, conferences and sponsorships.
• Maintain accurate experience databases, matter lists, and pipelines; manage the CRM.
• Coordinate cross-office collaboration to drive cross-selling opportunities.
