Job summary

General Tool Co in Reading, OH is seeking a Business Development & Capture Manager for Aerospace & Defense to lead pursuit strategy, qualify opportunities, and own the bid process from qualification to contract award. You will build executive relationships, lead cross‑functional teams with Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, and Contracts, and shape terms that maximize win probability and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum seven years of experience in aerospace, defense, or complex manufacturing.
• Experience preparing manufacturing cost estimates and leading bids/proposals.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate with executives.
• Strong understanding of pricing, contracts, and government contracting (FAR/DFARS).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary business development and capture representative for assigned strategic customer accounts.
• Develop strategic account plans that drive profitable growth and inform capacity and financial planning.
• Own capture strategies from qualification through contract award and lead bid development.
• Lead cross-functional teams to develop competitive, compliant proposals.
• Drive early customer engagement to shape requirements and strengthen competitive position.
• Ensure risks, pricing, and execution considerations are reflected in bid strategies.
• Support contract negotiations through to award.
• Lead handoff from pursuit to program execution.
