Job summary

Zurich North America is seeking an Executive Underwriter or AVP, Underwriting Director – Large Casualty for the Southern California Territory, with flexible work locations in Los Angeles and Irvine. You will evaluate, price, and negotiate highly complex large-scale commercial risks and build broker and client relationships.

The role encompasses leadership in underwriting and production, adherence to guidelines, and collaboration across teams to drive profitable growth and renewal retention.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent with 5+ years in Underwriting or Market Facing area, or equivalent combinations.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and relevant experience in underwriting or market facing area.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience working on time restraints for quotes and in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting, analyzing, and generating new and renewal business.
• Market facing and production within Large Casualty, National Accounts division.
• Administering underwriting rules and guidelines, laws and rating manual rules.
• Developing and maintaining broker relationships in the Southern California Territory.
• Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments.
