Job summary

Zurich North America seeks an experienced AVP Underwriting Director – Large Casualty to lead complex large-scale risks from San Francisco, Los Angeles, or Denver. You will underwrite, price, and negotiate with brokers to drive profitable growth and high renewal retention.

You will work within The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework, balancing authority levels, and market-facing duties to deliver superior client service while expanding the Large Casualty footprint.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of underwriting or market-facing experience with a high school diploma.
• Or 14+ years in claims or underwriting support with a high school diploma.
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with Associate Degree and 5+ years in underwriting/market-facing roles.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, analyze, and generate new and renewal business.
• Market facing and production within Large Casualty, National Accounts.
• Administer underwriting rules, laws, and rating manual guidelines.
• Develop and maintain broker relationships in the San Francisco/Northern CA region.
