Job summary

Futaba North America is seeking a skilled purchasing professional to join our Bloomingdale, IL headquarters. The role focuses on developing supplier relationships, negotiating terms, and managing sourcing activities for automotive parts.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in purchasing, familiarity with ERP/MRP, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Some Japanese language ability is preferred; travel ~10% may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years purchasing experience with solid negotiation skills.
• Experience in automotive, aerospace, OEM or related manufacturing preferred.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; working knowledge of ERP or MRP systems.
• Ability to speak, read, and write Japanese preferred.
• Approximately 10% travel by car/plane required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage long-term supplier relationships and secure best pricing, delivery, and terms.
• Evaluate quotations and negotiate pricing, timelines, and terms within budget.
• Determine best procurement methods and prepare PO requisitions and bid requests.
• Issue letters of intent and confirm purchasing power parity (PPP).
• Analyze procurement costs and develop cost-reduction strategies.
