Job summary

Magna Mechatronics, Mirrors & Lighting in Troy, MI seeks a Global Purchasing professional to develop and implement commodity strategies aligned with OEM goals and commodity roadmaps defined by the Global Commodity Director and Regional Lead Buyer.

You will lead RFQ activities, evaluate supplier cost structures for best value, and manage supplier relationships across regions to optimize long-term agreements and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, business, or related discipline.
• 3–5 years' progressive purchasing experience in automotive/manufacturing.
• Experience with electronics, wire harnesses, resin, injection molding, fasteners, assemblies preferred.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.
• Familiarity with IATF16949 policies and ISO 14001 EMS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement commodity strategies with the Global Commodity Director and Regional Lead Buyer.
• Manage RFQs and evaluate supplier cost structures to obtain best value for Magna.
• Lead cross-functional teams across Engineering, Production Controls, Logistics and Supplier Quality.
• Establish and negotiate long-term supplier agreements and giveback terms.
• Monitor market conditions and execute cost savings initiatives and risk mitigation.
