Job summary

Dover Corporation is seeking an OPCO Automation Manager in Downers Grove, IL, a hybrid role that combines site leadership with advanced manufacturing automation. You will shape the automation roadmap, evaluate ROI, and guide engineering teams to implement scalable solutions across its OPCO sites.

Responsibilities include leading capital projects, ensuring safety and quality compliance, and driving productivity gains while coordinating with site leadership and corporate governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience in automated machine design or assembly.
• Experience with SolidWorks or another mechanical CAD system.
• Strong understanding of Lean concepts and plant layout.
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to interact with other departments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain multi-year automation strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
• Identify, prioritize, and champion automation investments with clear ROI and operational impact.
• Lead automation projects from conception through completion, including scope, schedules, and safety/commercial considerations.
• Provide hands-on engineering support, troubleshooting and maintenance of automated processes.
• Drive productivity improvements, asset utilization, and process standardization across sites.
