Macalester College's DeWitt Wallace Library seeks an Associate Library Director for Access, Instruction, & Research Services to lead 11 staff and ~40 student employees. You will steward access, instruction, and digital liberal arts, collaborating with faculty and campus partners to advance information literacy and research services.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, data-driven service improvements, and inclusive, welcoming library operations aligned with the college's mission.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership experience in an academic library or related setting.
• Experience with information literacy instruction, curriculum partnerships, or teaching in higher education.
• Ability to think strategically and lead organizational change.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for Access Services, Research & Instruction Services, and Digital Liberal Arts.
• Lead and support a team of 11 staff (8 direct reports) and ~40 student employees.
• Foster collaboration, professional growth, and a positive workplace culture.
• Partner with faculty and staff to strengthen information literacy and research support.
• Guide development of library services, spaces, and technologies.
• Use assessment and data to improve services and demonstrate impact.
• Contribute to the library's strategic direction as a leadership team member.
