Job summary

Spring Independent School District in Houston, TX seeks an Assistant Director – Compensation, Benefits & Leaves to lead daily operations of compensation, benefits, leave, and related programs. You will supervise staff, ensure accurate pay, timely benefits, and compliance with district policies.

Under the Director’s guidance, you will translate priorities into procedures, develop service standards, and drive improvements in program administration and employee service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, including substantial experience in compensation, benefits, leave administration, finance, or a closely related area
• Minimum of three years of successful leadership, supervisory, or program management experience
• Professional certification in human resources, compensation, or benefits (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Lead daily departmental operations: set priorities, assign responsibilities, monitor service quality and deadlines.
• Supervise, coach, develop, and evaluate staff within Compensation and Benefits & Leaves.
• Translate priorities into procedures, project plans, service standards, and measurable team goals.
• Serve as primary operational resource for complex employee matters; consult with Director, Employee Relations, and legal counsel.
• Develop operating procedures, desk guides, templates, annual calendars, and cross-training plans.
