Job summary

Dow Credit Union is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join our Accounting leadership team. You will partner with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, lead the monthly close, and provide strategic insights through forecasting and analysis.

You'll oversee audits, regulatory reporting, and CECL methodologies, while driving process improvements and system enhancements to support growth and member-focused service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
• 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis capabilities.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly financial close process and reporting.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Prepare CECL methodologies and supporting docs.
• Oversee audits and regulatory examinations.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning.
• Mentor accounting staff.
• Drive process improvements and system enhancements.
• Support asset-liability management discussions.
