Job summary

The Bachrach Group in Deerfield Beach, FL is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to lead the month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis within a growing Finance & Accounting team.

This leadership role requires a CPA, 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, multi-entity exposure, and advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; you will mentor staff, drive process improvements, and support audits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the month-end close and financial reporting process.
• Oversee the General Ledger Accounting team.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting packages.
• Provide oversight across Accounts Payable, Commissions, and Claims Billing.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly budget-to-actual reporting.
• Develop and maintain cost allocation methodologies.
• Analyze financial performance, trends, variances, and cost structures.
• Support annual audits, internal controls, and accounting initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, systems, and efficiency.
• Coach and mentor accounting professionals.

What You'll Do

• Lead the month-end close and financial reporting process
• Oversee the General Ledger Accounting team
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting packages
• Provide oversight and support across Accounts Payable, Commissions, and Claims Billing

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience leading month-end close
• Experience with budgeting, financial analysis, cost accounting, and cost allocation
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills preferred
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently meet deadlines
