Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Distinguished Architect for Asset and Infrastructure Transformation to provide visionary architecture services across the enterprise. You will shape technology strategy, roadmaps, and governance to maximize value and reduce costs while enabling future capabilities across the railroad system.

You will communicate target state and progress to portfolio leaders and drive adoption of standards, patterns, and secure, scalable solutions across multiple domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data and intelligence or related field with 13+ years relevant experience or equivalent with at least 5 years in a Principal/Senior Principal Architect role.

Responsibilities

• Set architectural vision for core capabilities and alignment of patterns.
• Define enterprise principles and guidance for data capabilities and infrastructure.
• Provide governance over current and future state of architecture domains.
• Ensure safety, security, stability, and compliance of reference architectures.
• Drive adoption and reuse of resources across portfolios.
• Mentor other architects and DT teams to foster excellence.
• Communicate effectively with senior leadership and across the company.
• Create strategic roadmaps and plans for DT architecture evolution.
• Guide investments to align technology with business strategy.
• Envision architectures that differentiate and transform the business.
• Resolve complex architectural challenges spanning multiple domains.
• Design and oversee robust, scalable architectural solutions for cross-domain problems.
• Translate technical ideas for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between engineering and business teams.
