Job summary

Amtrak is seeking a Distinguished Architect - Passenger Travel Experience to provide visionary, companywide architecture services aligning technology investments with corporate goals. The role focuses on strategic thinking, governance, and cross-functional leadership to move Amtrak’s digital capabilities forward.

As part of the Digital Technology team, you will articulate target state architectures, roadmaps, and change progress to portfolio leaders, while mentoring other architects and driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 13+ years in architecture
• Experience directing complex architecture initiatives over $7M in regulated environments
• Expertise in passenger-experience architecture across stations, digital channels, onboard services

Responsibilities

• Define enterprise principles, patterns and guidance for data, platforms and infrastructure.
• Provide Oversight and Governance to current and future architecture states.
• Create strategic roadmaps and comprehensive plans for DT architecture evolution.
• Communicate technology target state, roadmap and change progress to portfolio leaders.
• Mentor other architects and foster a culture of excellence.
• Translate complex technical ideas into digestible concepts for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Drive adoption and reuse of resources and technology across portfolios.
