Job summary

The City of Shawnee is seeking an Aquatics Program Manager to oversee municipal pools and splash pads, supervise staff, and ensure safe, efficient operations across the Aquatics Division.

Responsibilities include directing programming and events, maintaining facilities, coordinating with Parks & Recreation, training lifeguards, and managing budgets and public relations to keep the community informed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Parks and Recreation or related field.
• 5–7 years of related work experience.
• AFO and CPO certifications are required.
• Possession of the Lifeguard Instructor Trainer license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• CPRP or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate aquatic staff.
• Manage schedules, safety, licenses, and budgets.
• Coordinate swim and dive team schedules and practices; liaise with Parks & Recreation and parent representatives.
• Direct planning, promotion, and implementation of programs and events; recruit instructors.
• Maintain preventative maintenance schedules and facility operation knowledge.
