Job summary

The City of Columbia is seeking an experienced Aquatic Manager to lead the Recreation Aquatic Division, directing programs, operations, and staffing to ensure safe, high quality aquatic services for the community.

The role requires hands-on management, strong collaboration with staff and partners, and a commitment to inclusive, accessible recreation opportunities across parks and facilities. Early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays are expected.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of leadership experience in aquatics.
• Experience with lifeguarding, aquatics programming, coaching, or water safety instruction.
• Certifications: Ellis and Associates (or equivalent); LGI, LG Management, AFO, or CPO within 180 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide management and leadership direction to the Recreation Aquatic Division including program development, management, and oversight.
• Oversee operations and maintenance of pools and water facilities with reporting duties.
• Procure and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
