Job summary

Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation seeks an Aquatics Manager to direct daily operations of indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities. You will supervise staff and volunteers, manage budgets, ensure safety, and develop programs for diverse aquatic interests.

You will coordinate marketing, training, and seasonal activities, while maintaining compliance with licensing and department objectives. This role reports to the Administrator and serves the community with quality recreational opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Parks and Recreation Administration, Education, or a related field required.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ increasingly responsible management experience required; and,
• Minimum of three (3) years experience in a leadership position required; and,
• Minimum of three years’ experience in pool operations, aquatic staff development, food and beverage operations and aquatic programming required; and,

Responsibilities

• Directs daily operations and maintenance of indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities.
• Staffs programs, events, rentals, and activities; trains and supervises lifeguard and program staff.
• Develops aquatic programs for diverse interests and oversees welcome desk staffing and food/bev operations.
• Manages budgets, BERP records, and contract development for aquatic operations.
• Ensures safety, risk management, policy enforcement, and quality control across facilities.
• Oversees marketing efforts and social media to maximize exposure for events and activities.
• Coordinates winterization/de-winterization and in-season maintenance of outdoor facilities.
• Prepares and presents reports to department administrators and boards.
