Job summary

The Bushnell is seeking an Annual Gifts Officer in Hartford, CT. This full-time role focuses on identifying, cultivating, and soliciting individual donors to support the Annual Fund. You will manage about 120 households and work toward increasing donor engagement and gift levels.

Ideal candidates have college education, 3–5 years in fundraising, strong relationship-building skills, and a data-informed approach to donor engagement. Some evenings and weekends required.

Qualifications

• College degree preferred and 3-5 years of experience in the fundraising field.
• Demonstrated ability to personally solicit gifts in the amount of $2,500 and above.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage a portfolio of donors.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward prospects capable of leadership annual gifts in the $1,500–$5,000+ range.
• Manage an active portfolio of approximately 120 households.
• Conduct 10–15 meaningful donor contacts per month via in-person, virtual, or calls.
• Prepare donor profiles, briefs, and research materials.
• Attend events to deepen donor engagement and move solicitations forward.
