Job summary

Referment is hiring for a research analyst to join a strategic intelligence team focused on software, AI, and related technology sectors in Denver. The role involves investigating long-cycle themes, translating technical and market developments into investment-relevant insight, and collaborating across investment teams.

Based in Denver, you will cover enterprise software, generative AI, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, data platforms, and developer ecosystems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least two years’ relevant experience.
Background in technology research, software analysis, investment analysis, consulting, market intelligence, data analysis, or a related field.
Ability to connect technical developments to commercial consequences.
Excellent research, synthesis, and written communication skills.
Familiarity with enterprise technology purchasing, cloud infrastructure, AI applications, or software competition is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Research software and AI markets, business models, customer demand, pricing, product roadmaps, and competitive positioning.
Track AI adoption, spending, implementation challenges, productivity effects, and commercialization across industries.
Gather insight through conferences, expert consultations, product briefings, and conversations with industry participants.
Monitor regulation, product launches, earnings commentary, and other investment-relevant signals.
Write concise analytical memos and work with investment analysts to frame questions and address evidence gaps.
