Job summary

Chromalloy Gas Turbine, LLC is seeking a Lead Buyer in Phoenix, AZ to drive strategic sourcing, procurement operations, and supplier relationships. This role focuses on optimizing cost, quality, and delivery while partnering with Planning, Operations, and Engineering to ensure timely, compliant material flow.

The successful candidate will lead negotiations, manage POs, and drive continuous improvement across procurement processes in a manufacturing context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years purchasing, sourcing, or procurement in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and supplier relationship management.
• Experience leading capital expense procurement projects and contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (Epicor, SAP, NetSuite).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, aerospace or related products.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel proficiency.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities to support production and repair operations.
• Manage supplier relationships and conduct competitive bid processes for cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Coordinate with Planning, Operations, and Production Control to maintain inventory parameters and data accuracy.
• Oversee purchase order execution, supplier follow-up, and issue resolution.
• Lead negotiations for pricing, terms, contracts, and supplier agreements.
• Drive continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier performance.
• Monitor supplier metrics like on-time delivery, fill rate, and quality.
• Support make-versus-buy decisions through cost evaluations and sourcing recommendations.
• Assess supplier capabilities and risks; develop mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and Global Sourcing.
• Develop reporting, governance, and compliance processes for procurement activities.
