Job summary

fal is hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist in San Francisco to own the full AR lifecycle, from invoicing to cash application, and drive clean revenue. You’ll partner with Sales, Ops, and Customer Success to keep the billing process accurate and the books reconciled.

The role emphasizes reducing DSO, building relationships with customer AP teams, and designing scalable processes. We expect 3+ years in AR, strong communication, and experience with ERP systems in a SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Accounts Receivable, Billing, or Collections.
• Experience in SaaS, tech, or startup environments.
• Solid grasp of AR processes, collections strategy, and cash application.
• Experience with an ERP/accounting system.

Responsibilities

• Run the full AR lifecycle — invoicing, payment tracking, account reconciliation.
• Watch aging reports and chase down outstanding invoices before they become a problem.
• Keep customer account records clean and resolve billing discrepancies fast.
• Support month-end close for AR and cash application.
• Design and execute collection strategies to shrink DSO.
• Build real relationships with customer AP teams to resolve delays.
• Elevate high-risk or delinquent accounts without harming relationships.
• Spot payment risk by reading trends before write-offs.
• Use collections tools to automate outreach and track performance.
• Partner with Finance leadership to level up AR processes and controls.
• Work with Sales to ensure billing accuracy from the first invoice.
• Put together weekly AR aging and collections reports for leadership.
• Track DSO and collection effectiveness; support audits.
