Strategic Accounts Director- New Product

The Strategic Accounts Director will be responsible for retaining and upselling clients launching Garner’s newest employee benefit offering. You will collaborate with the General Manager of Health Plan Products to ensure an excellent client experience and achievement of expected results. As a trusted strategic partner, you will advise on plan design, control cost trends, and drive plan performance. Your efforts will focus on improving Net Revenue Retention and KPIs for your portfolio. This role reports to the General Manager of Health Plan Products.

Location: Remote with up to 25% travel

Responsibilities include:
  1. Onboard and advise clients on Garner's newest product in collaboration with the General Manager of Health Plan Products.
  2. Manage key broker and client relationships to demonstrate value and provide strategic advice.
  3. Act as a trusted partner on plan design, cost management, and performance improvement.
  4. Resolve strategic issues and ensure value delivery to employers and members.
  5. Monitor client health and execute strategic plans to mitigate risks.
  6. Work with product, data, and tech teams to deliver customized reports and demonstrate ROI.
  7. Drive revenue retention and growth KPIs.
Ideal candidate has:
  • Deep knowledge of health plan design, benefits, and employer benefits strategy.
  • Experience designing and implementing medical plans, including self-funded options.
  • 7+ years in account management or sales within employee benefits.
  • Strong commercial focus with proven retention and upsell results.
  • Self-starter comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to articulate a clear vision and work effectively in ambiguous situations.

The target salary range is $145,000 - $175,000, plus bonuses, equity, and benefits. Compensation depends on qualifications and skills. Garner is an Equal Opportunity Employer and values diversity.
