Job summary

Twining Holdings, LLC, an engineering-focused firm with 125+ years of history, seeks a Director of Accounting & Controller in Long Beach, CA. You will lead a ~15-person accounting team, own close processes, and deliver accurate consolidated reporting across multiple entities in line with U.S.

GAAP. You will partner with the CFO and executives on forecasts, cash flow, and system improvements, while strengthening internal controls and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• At least 12 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Active CPA license strongly preferred.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience leading a multi-entity accounting team.
• Engineering/project-based industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; establish a disciplined close calendar.
• Own consolidated financial reporting for multiple entities in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting schedules.
• Design and monitor internal controls and accounting policies.
• Oversee project accounting, revenue recognition, and divisional results; explain performance to operations.
• Lead and develop the accounting department ensuring staff accountability.
• Coordinate with CFO and leadership on forecasts, cash flow, and system enhancements.
