Job summary

Meritus Gas Partners seeks an Accounting Controller to direct financial reporting, close cycles, and maintain GAAP-compliant controls. Based in Phoenix, AZ or Denver, CO, you will partner with executives to drive performance and growth across business units.

Lead a small finance team, oversee audits, treasury coordination, and due diligence on M&A targets, while standardizing processes and ensuring accurate reporting to the board and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
• Active CPA credential.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting experience in controllership or related roles.
• Experience supervising accounting teams and managing close processes.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience supporting corporate development, due diligence, and post-close M&A integrations.

Responsibilities

• Direct all business-unit accounting operations and ensure GAAP-compliant reporting.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close cycles to improve speed and accuracy.
• Maintain standardized policies, reconciliations, and internal control environments.
