Job Description

Strategic Account Manager - Remote

Position Summary:

Seeking a talented and competitive Account Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, complex sales environment with a high level of drive to excel. The role involves selling food flavorings, ingredients, and solutions from the ADM Nutrition portfolio to customers in North America, focusing on business-to-business sales to producers of savory and sweet goods, dairy foods, wellness products, and beverages. Responsibilities include building new business, growing sales with existing customers, and maintaining their base year over year.

Work entails close collaboration with customers on product development, cost effectiveness, and quality improvement initiatives to drive growth. The individual will work closely with ADM cross-functional partners in technical, marketing, financial, food regulation, and business leadership roles. They will assist in defining the technical support needed to meet customer demands, executing projects through collaboration with flavor, color, and specialty ingredient teams.

The account manager will oversee and manage their customer pipeline and opportunities using CRM systems (Salesforce), liaising with regulatory and scientific teams to ensure solutions meet claim and product positioning requirements.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Sourcing and managing new sales opportunities via inbound and outbound communications, promoting the ADM Nutrition portfolio.
  • Preparing targeted account plans and executing sales strategies.
  • Maintaining high customer satisfaction through constant contact.
  • Building relationships with cross-functional teams including CD&D, Regulatory, Customer Service, Procurement, and Legal.
  • Customer management including sample/opportunity entry, project management, and follow-up.
  • Implementing proactive call schedules to increase customer engagement.
  • Using web-based reporting tools to improve sales effectiveness, maintaining accurate records of quotes, sales, and activity reports.
  • Adhering to company policies, procedures, and ethics.
  • Maintaining thorough product knowledge of all nutrition ingredients.

Job Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree is required.
  • 5-7 years of account management experience in the flavor/ingredient industry preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with key customers and team members.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Availability to travel within North America up to 50%.
