Position Summary:

This is a pipeline req for future opportunities as a Strategic Account Executive. The role involves executing the sales process to generate revenue growth by developing business opportunities with new and existing customers across all product lines. Candidates should embrace a culture of integrity and professionalism, utilizing value-based selling in all sales pursuits. The position requires meeting an annual quota set by the Vice President of Sales or Director of Sales.

Major Responsibilities:
Growth
  • Identify, pursue, and maintain a pipeline of potential customers to meet or exceed quotas through prospecting, networking, and referrals.
  • Extend or renew existing contracts and identify opportunities for customer growth in new locations or with additional products/services.
  • Access decision-makers via disciplined prospecting.
  • Manage a portfolio of Penske Logistics products, evaluating growth opportunities based on expertise and strategic focus.
  • Leverage market sector knowledge to diversify into strategic verticals.
  • Collaborate with Product Line Managers to propose logistics solutions that lead to closed deals.
  • Negotiate and close deals by addressing customer objections, representing customer positions during negotiations.
Customer Focus
  • Understand the customer’s business model and challenges.
  • Build relationships with decision-makers and influencers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through regular communication and reviews.
Internal Business Partnerships
  • Lead the sales process involving Product Line and Operations Teams.
  • Develop partnerships within Penske Truck Leasing and other internal teams to secure approvals.
  • Participate in account management teams, working with Operations, Product, Engineering/IT, and Finance.
Reporting
  • Track opportunities using Salesforce.
  • Communicate deal progress and strategies to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in selling logistics solutions or relevant supply chain activities.
  • Proven success and career progression.
  • Expertise in consultative and strategic selling, with experience presenting to executives.
  • Knowledge in Distribution Center Management, Dedicated Fleet, or Transportation Management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Willingness to travel, work hours as needed, and pass background checks.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to read, communicate, analyze information, and follow instructions.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and focus adjustment.
