Job summary

The New School's Lang College and NSSR seek a Manager of Academic Planning to guide curriculum development and coordinate with academic leadership, faculty, and staff. This on-site role reports to the Associate Director of Academic Planning and supports strategic planning across programs.

The ideal candidate will analyze data, manage part-time faculty affairs under UAW Local 7902, and help ensure accurate scheduling and reporting while upholding The New School's commitment to civic engagement,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in higher education or a related field.
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and draw conclusions from large datasets.
  • High level of computer proficiency in Google Drive, MS Office, and online database systems; strong knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software is essential
  • Ability to work well under pressure, take initiative, and follow through on multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of accuracy, speed and poise.
  • Ability to communicate well with different populations at the University including faculty, students, and staff.
  • Excellent task-management, organizational, and inter-personal/service skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and take initiative.
  • Commitment to discretion when working with private and protected data.

Responsibilities

  • Support the course planning process to ensure the successful implementation of curriculum:
  • Support part-time faculty (PTF) affairs to facilitate compliance with UAW-ACT Local 7902 collective bargaining agreement and academic planning processes:
  • Perform additional tasks as required in support of the Academic Planning and Curriculum Hub and the overall operations of the College.
