Job summary

The New School in New York City is seeking a Manager of Academic Planning to support curriculum development for Lang College and NSSR. You will collaborate with academic leadership, faculty, and administrators to drive course planning, scheduling, and space utilization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with related experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in higher education or related field.
  • Ability to analyze, summarize, and draw conclusions from large datasets.
  • Proficiency in Google Drive, MS Office, online databases; strong word-processing, spreadsheets, databases.
  • Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks with accuracy and poise.
  • Excellent communication with faculty, students, and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Support the course planning process to ensure curriculum implementation.
  • Manage and monitor course enrollments during registration.
  • Provide strategic recommendations for course additions and cancellations.
  • Oversee student requests related to course registration; coordinate with Advising.
  • Facilitate communication about curricular developments and registration matters.
  • Assure instructional spaces are designed to meet program needs; manage room scheduling.
  • Support part-time faculty affairs and Teaching Assistants; ensure proper placements.
  • Produce and oversee key documentation for classes across fall, spring, and summer.
  • Maintain shared curricular documentation on program offerings, faculty, and room assignments.
  • Provide regular curricular data reports on enrollment, cross-registration, and space utilization.
  • Develop PTF reports for curriculum planning and central University offices.
  • Perform additional tasks to support Academic Planning and Curriculum Hub.
