Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat in North Stonington, CT, seeks a Stowage Logistics Tech Aide to support creation, maintenance, and validation of stowage data for new submarines per ship specifications. The role interfaces with ILS program representatives and engineers to validate, upload, and monitor data in the Stowage Detail File, and coordinates turnover to SUPSHIP before certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or higher.
• 4 years of equivalent military or commercial logistics experience, or 4 years of EB Design experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Preferred: Teamcenter proficiency.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field.
• Military or commercial logistics experience.
• Understanding of COSAL and GFE acquisitions processes.
• Basic knowledge of submarine systems and components.
• Proficient with Office Suite, MS Projects and Visio.
• Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Update and maintain hull-specific stowage data in logistics information systems for VA and CLB classes.
• Research part information via EB CPC and other applications (Haystack, Deckplate).
• Generate stowage data delivery packages for Ships Force and SUPSHIP.
• Coordinate with Program Reps and Engineers to review complex stowage issues with warehouse, outfitting and engineering teams.
• Coordinate requirements and track completion of SDF Change Forms and StowI forms per MDD-00096 (VA) and MDD-02177 (CLB).
• Evaluate design changes (ER/CN) for impacts to ship stowage and SDF; report ER review status weekly.
