Job summary

WVLT-TV/Gray Media in Knoxville, TN is seeking a driven editor who can turn a script into a compelling story with natural sound and powerful visuals gathered in the field.

Duties include shooting videos and stills for our digital platforms, operating laptop editors in the field, collaborating with reporters and producers, and maintaining equipment and vehicles.

The editor will help produce dynamic newscasts that engage our local audience and support the station’s commitment to quality journalism.

Qualifications

• Experience in video photography and non-linear editing preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work all shifts and have a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of Sony PXW200/300 and Edius 9 is a plus.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shooting videos and stills for digital platforms and gathering information in the field.
• Operating laptop editors as well as live portable technology in the field.
• Collaborating with reporters and producers on stories.
• Maintaining equipment and vehicles as assigned by newsroom managers.
• Editing rundowns to provide quality and dynamic newscasts for our audience.
