Job summary

WBIR-TV Knoxville, a TEGNA affiliate, seeks a Multi-Skilled Journalist to cover local news across platforms. You will craft compelling stories, shoot and edit as needed, and share content across on-air and digital channels while building sources and telling authentic, engaging stories.

Applicants with 0-1 years of reporting experience, strong writing, and familiarity with ENPS/EDIUS are preferred; Knoxville knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years reporting experience preferred.
• Solid news judgment, strong communication, creativity and ethical decision-making.
• Strong writing, production and tease writing abilities.
• ENPS, EDIUS and Axis graphics experience preferred.
• Organized and able to work under deadlines; handle live breaking news.
• Knowledge of Knoxville is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform authoritative, compelling live shots in developing or breaking stories.
• Develop story ideas and mine the community for sources.
• Identify, write and produce stories within a framework; research facts.
• Shoot, write, produce and edit content for on-air and online use.
• Use graphics and social tools to enhance stories; attend editorial meetings.
