WVLT-TV/Gray Media in Knoxville, TN seeks a talented News Producer to join our award-winning team. You will lead content and flow of newscasts, coordinating with the Executive Producer, News Director, and reporters to ensure high-quality coverage across broadcast and digital platforms.

Strong writing, weather/breaking-news handling, and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential. Editorial experience and script-writing ability are preferred; flexible scheduling is required for this role.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Journalism/Communications or equivalent background.
• Flexible work hours including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Excellent writing and graphic skills with the ability to produce substantive content.
• Results-oriented with strong newsroom coordination capabilities.
• Experience with script writing and editorial processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Produce the daily newscast.
• Conceptualize and arrange a newscast rundown.
• Collaborate with EP, field crews and the assignment desk.
• Research stories, write scripts and pitch ideas.
• Participate in editorial meetings and preview material before air.
• Create graphics and coordinate breaking news.
• Execute the show from the control room and meet timing.
