Program Manager, Global Procurement Sustainability (GPS)

Amazon is seeking a talented and driven Program Manager to join our Global Procurement Sustainability (GPS) team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with GPS teams (Community Impact, Environment, ESG Compliance & Standards, Social Responsibility, Strategic Engagement & Partnership, and Supplier Development & Impact) to manage storytelling and messaging for the team. The GPS Storytelling and Content Program Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and executing compelling storytelling opportunities and content for both internal and external audiences. This strategic position requires a blend of creative thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and strong project management skills.

This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a deep understanding of brand compliance, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in content creation, project management, and stakeholder engagement in a fast-paced corporate environment. Key job responsibilities

  1. Program Management
    Creates an end-to-end process for GPS content development from the identification, to the creation, and to approvals of branded materials and/or messaging.
    Drafts and upholds communications governance, including tracking disclosures of all data points in internal and external communications.
    Ensures all content is brand compliant and meets Amazon's high standards for quality and accuracy through a strong partnership with Amazon Public Relations, Marketing, Legal, and Trademark teams.
    Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather insights and create impactful narratives that resonate with target audiences.
    Continuously analyzes and reports on the performance of communication initiatives, using data to drive improvements and inform future strategies.
    Experiments with story types and topics, develops best practices, and creates playbooks and toolkits to make our global work more consistent and efficient.
  2. Internal/External Storytelling and Messaging
    Develops and implements a comprehensive content strategy that aligns with Amazon's brand guidelines and business objectives.
    Develops and manages internal and external brand-compliant communication materials.
    Ensures messaging consistency, cohesiveness, and proper internal approvals across all communication channels.
    Oversees the development and maintenance of team wiki pages, ensuring they are up-to-date and informative.
    Launches and manages the GPO Impact Report, showcasing the team's achievements and initiatives as well as success stories with suppliers, nonprofits, and the broader community through quantitative and qualitative data and storytelling.
    Manages the GPS quarterly newsletter in partnership with the subpillar content leads, keeping stakeholders informed of key updates and successes.
    Acts as a content thought partner to GPS teams, providing counsel and guidance throughout all stages of editorial planning, execution, and analysis.
    Assists in developing and executing crisis communication plans when needed.
  3. Social Media Management
    Launches and manages a dedicated social media channel for the Global Procurement Sustainability team, increasing visibility and engagement.
    Collaborates with GPS leadership and subpillar content leads to develop a comprehensive social media content calendar that features regular updates of Amazon’s impact in the community.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of working cross-functionally with non-tech teams experience
- Experience in supply chain
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
- Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions
- Experience with social media output and measurement to develop and execute campaigns across a multitude of time zones and languages
- Demonstrated experience in community impact, supplier diversity, environment, or social responsibility initiatives or related fields
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across various levels of the organization

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of driving end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
