Job summary

State of Alaska is recruiting for a section program manager in Anchorage/Wasilla/Fairbanks/Juneau to oversee stormwater and wetlands activities within the Wastewater Discharge Authorization Program. The role covers permitting, regulatory compliance, and public education aimed at preventing water pollution.

You will coordinate statewide programs, supervise staff, and engage with industry, government partners, and the public to ensure sustainable water resources management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental, physical, biological, or natural science; engineering; planning; or natural resources.
• Experience delivering environmental program services and supervising staff is typical.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Stormwater & Wetlands Section to prevent pollution through permitting and compliance.
• Coordinate statewide efforts in stormwater controls and education.
• Respond to stakeholder needs with professional consultation and guidance.
• Develop and manage wastewater discharge permits in cooperation with agencies and stakeholders.
• Communicate technical information clearly in oral and written form.
