Job summary

Orange County Government is seeking an outdoor maintenance technician responsible for applying herbicide to manage vegetation along stormwater canals, ponds, and ditches. You will operate backpack sprayers, spray trucks, UTVs, or boats under supervision and maintain spray records for safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates have 2 years of outdoor maintenance experience and hold a Florida pesticide license or are able to obtain within 6 months, plus a valid Florida driver license.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in outdoor maintenance and use of commercial landscape equipment.
• Must have valid Florida Restricted Use of Pesticide license (aquatic, right-of-way or ornamental/turf) or obtain within 6 months.
• Must possess and maintain a Florida driver license or obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Accurately calculate application rates from product labels.
• Perform routine maintenance on application equipment for safe, efficient use.
• Calibrate, load and spray herbicide using backpack sprayers, spray trucks, UTV or boats.
• Maintain daily spray records and ensure safe operation around public areas.
