County of Volusia seeks a Chemical Spray Technician to implement the county's weed control program along ditch banks and road rights-of-way. The role requires outdoor work across multiple Volusia locations, operating spraying equipment, and handling chemicals safely.

Candidate must have high school/GED, one year weed control experience, and be able to obtain pesticide applicator certifications, plus a CDL B with tanker and air brake endorsement within six months.

Responsabilidades

• Maneuver and schedule daily spraying activities across Volusia County locations.
• Identify ditch and aquatic weeds along roadside ditches and rights-of-way.
• Determine herbicide types and mixtures for effective weed control.
• Fill, mix, operate and maintain chemical herbicide equipment.
• Record daily activities and enter data into a desktop terminal.
• Supervise and train other employees in spraying activities and safety procedures.
