Job summary

Contech Engineered Solutions in the United States is seeking a Product Development Engineer to lead and contribute to design projects from ideation to production, developing CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and cost estimates.

You will perform feasibility assessments, prototyping, testing, and DFM, collaborate across teams to optimize performance and profitability, build prototypes, run calculations, and stay ahead of stormwater technology trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on, creative mindset with strong project management and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks (or similar), plus Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to engineering design projects from ideation to production.
• Develop 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and cost estimates.
• Perform feasibility assessments, prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturability as part of New Product Development (NPD).
• Collaborate across teams to optimize product performance and profitability.
• Build and test working prototypes, perform technical calculations, and collect data for analysis.
• Stay on top of industry trends and emerging technologies in stormwater and adjacent markets.
• Support intellectual property management and patent research.
• Travel occasionally (up to 10%) for testing, field visits, or vendor collaboration.
