Job summary

The City of Manhattan, Kansas is seeking a Stormwater Operations Supervisor to oversee daily stormwater infrastructure operations, levee maintenance, and related projects. You will lead field crews, manage internal projects from concept to completion, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with the Stormwater Engineering group and other departments.

This exempt, regular full-time role reports to the Street, Fleet, and Stormwater Superintendent, requires a bachelor’s degree with stormwater

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management/Sciences, Business Administration, or related field of study or equivalent.
• Five+ years stormwater maintenance with supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily stormwater operations (levee and storm sewer maintenance, street sweeping, detention pond upkeep).
• Lead field crews, assign work orders, ensure safety and quality, and maintain records.
• Manage internal stormwater projects from concept to completion and coordinate with Stormwater Engineering.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours calls; supervise contractors and vendors.
• Provide regular updates to leadership and ensure compliance with city standards and regulations.
