Job summary

The City of Edmonds seeks a seasoned Storm Water Supervisor to oversee maintenance, repairs, and records for the storm water system. You will schedule, direct, and mentor staff while ensuring safety and compliance within the Public Works Department.

You will manage municipal drainage infrastructure, coordinate with street operations, and respond to emergencies, weather events, and public inquiries. Leadership and detailed record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with coursework in storm water construction and maintenance.
• Five years of related public works maintenance/operations experience; three years in storm water with lead/supervisory duties.
• Equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily work activities and assign tasks; manage schedules and priorities.
• Meet with staff to discuss priorities, workloads and technical issues; provide recommendations.
• Inspect work for quality and safety; participate in performance evaluations.
• Coach, train staff and enforce standards; supervise in the Manager's absence.
• Maintain storm water infrastructure including installations, basins, pipes and detention systems.
• Oversee street sweeping programs, disposal options, and material purchases.
