The City of Orange City, Florida is seeking a Stormwater Field Specialist to perform semi-skilled manual tasks and operate motorized equipment for the maintenance and improvement of public works facilities. You will assist the stormwater manager with MS4 and NPDES permit compliance and help ensure safe, reliable stormwater systems.

The role involves fieldwork, record-keeping, and following preventive maintenance schedules in varied weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School graduation or an acceptable equivalency diploma required.
• At least 1 year of manual labor experience, preferably in stormwater utilities or related operations.
• A comparable amount of training, education, or experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.

Responsabilités

• Provides routine preventive installation, maintenance and repair service to stormwater and related utilities transport systems.
• Cleans, inspects and maintains stormwater systems; replaces wiring and bearings in motors and pumps.
• Operates trucks and other motorized equipment; ensures safety procedures are followed.
• Assists in mixing, pouring and finishing concrete; performs basic construction tasks.
• Excavates trenches, lays pipe, repairs catch basins and cleans drainage lines and retention ponds.
