Bexar County PA is seeking a Stormwater Quality Inspector I to support the MS4 program. Under supervision, you will inspect construction sites, ensure permit compliance, collect field samples, and assist with BMP evaluations.

The role requires High School or GED, 1 year of construction inspection experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license. On-call duties and overtime may be required. Pay rate ranges from $21.79 to $25.61 hourly.

Competenze

• Graduation from High School or GED and 1 year inspection experience in building construction or equivalent
• Knowledge of construction procedures, materials, plans and specifications; knowledge of safety standards and BMPs
• Ability to operate survey instruments and read construction plans
• Ability to perform algebra, geometry and trigonometry-based calculations
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups using tact and diplomacy
• Ability to operate office equipment and establish working relationships with colleagues and the public
• Must secure a favorable background, pass pre-employment physical and drug screen, and have a valid Texas driver’s license
• Must be on-call 24 hours and may work overtime beyond 40 hours per week

• Observe and inspect progress of construction projects
• Ensure contractors and citizens comply with storm water permit requirements
• Maintain daily logs and progress reports
• Collect field samples for laboratory analysis
• Inspect SW3P measures on construction sites
• Assess BMPs for replacement or maintenance needs
• Coordinate with utility companies on construction projects
• Assist in assessments and recommendations on storm water quality issues
• Support in final inspections of assigned projects
