Job summary

Bexar County Public Works is seeking a Stormwater Quality Inspector I to support the MS4 program. You will perform daily inspections of construction sites, verify permit compliance, collect samples, and help ensure BMP effectiveness through routine field checks.

Under supervision you will assist in permitting, coordinate with contractors, and contribute to final project inspections, with on-call duties and outdoor exposure typical of the role.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required and one year of inspection experience.
• Knowledge of construction methods, plans and specs, and safety practices.
• Ability to read plans, operate survey tools, and perform basic engineering calculations.

Responsibilities

• Observe and inspect construction progress and ensure compliance with storm water permits.
• Maintain daily logs and field records; collect soil and material samples for tests.
• Inspect SW3P measures on sites and assess BMPs for maintenance or replacement.
• Coordinate with utility work teams and assist in final project inspections.
