The City of Roanoke, Virginia seeks an operator to join the Construction crew of the Stormwater division. The role involves operating heavy equipment such as excavators, dump trucks, backhoes, and loaders, and performing routine maintenance and repairs to keep vehicles in service.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED with 3–5 years of related experience; a Virginia Class A CDL is required within 6 months of hire.

Competenze

• 3–5 years related experience and/or training in trades.
• Virginia Class A CDL required or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Mansioni

• Operate heavy equipment (excavator, dump truck, backhoe, loader, skid steer).
• Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and minor repairs on equipment.
• Assist with stormwater pipe/manhole work and related tasks.
• Assist supervisor with cost accounting, payroll tracking, and maps/website data updates.
